Smartsheet Report - Filter by Month

I want to show data in a report for this month. It would be nice to have the functionality to filter by this month in the report. It looks like you can do this via a workaround a helper column and a MONTH formula, but would love to be able to do it without the workaround (and without needing to create another unnecessary helper column)
