Searching function in dynamic view

Hello- I really need a search function in dynamic view or I need a way to have interactive reports without granting people access to the underlying sheet. I don't understand how anyone can use dynamic view that has more than a page worth of data. Nobody has time to create filters everytime they need to look at something.

I wanted to share with you that Find is available in Dynamic view at least in Chrome. Pressing Ctrl-F brings up find and will highlight and jump to the word you enter. The little find window usually appears in the upper right and looks like this (using "date" as the find word):

In addition, if you look for a standard set of items regularly, the owner of the view can setup shared filters that anyone can use at any time. Also if an individual creates a filter for themselves, it should be available until they delete it.

Thanks for the comment. However, I'm only able to use ctrl F if it is on the front screen. If it is below the scroll bar then it won't. Filters are great but not efficient for as many different things they would need to search for.

@awycoff - Thank you for the feedback - I never noticed that it didn't find anything below the visible portion.

ETA - WorkApps may be a solution for you. It allows you to share reports without sharing the sheet.

@awycoff - i got the same problem with so many datas, what your teams is doing, or have you find a solution until SS do something on this ?

@Cynthia Guay we would really benefit from utilizing dynamic view, but until this is fixed we are using reports with holding our breathe that people don't go to the master sheet that the reports are pulling from.

We are having the same issue, hope Smartsheet will create a fix for this ASAP.

A search box would be super helpful on the Dynamic Views. The ctrl+f function works but only on the page currently in view. If you have data further down the page, there is no way to find that data using the search function. We are having to create a filter and update it with the new criteria every time we have to search for an item on the view, which is bringing down our productivity.

A search box for Dynamic View would be a great addition, especially to quickly locate data across the entire view without relying on the limited ctrl+f function or constantly updating filters.

Hopefully, it’s something Smartsheet considers for future updates!

Can we get a fix for this? A search function is IMPORTANT when there are multiple pages of entries. It is so inefficient to create a filter just to find one entry!

I completely agree with the feedback regarding the current search functionality in Smartsheet. It is highly inefficient to only be able to find items that are currently visible on the screen within a growing tracker.
The current behavior of the Ctrl + F function is inconsistent with how it operates in other Microsoft and Google products, which typically allow for a comprehensive search across the entire document or sheet. Furthermore, having to create a new filter for every search request significantly hinders efficiency. An enhancement to the find feature would greatly improve the user experience and overall efficiency for everyone. I sincerely hope that Smartsheet has plans to upgrade this functionality as soon as possible.
