Ability to set currency value

Would be wonderful to be able to set a column that will be a value as a currency to have a currency symbol added ($). User can do this for the first cell for manual entries and it generally will carry dwon the column, however when using formulas there does not seem to be an easy way to get the currency symbol in.

This sentiment echos many other suggestions posted.

    Hi @Abbey H.,

I wanted to ensure that I understand your request.

Have you applied the currency formatting to the entire column? To do so, click the column header so that the whole column is highlighted, then click the currency format button and select the desired currency symbol. More on formatting here: Format your data.

If you’re using formulas that reference cells that have currency formatting applied, and it’s not an option to format the column or row containing the formula with the currency formatting (for example, if your formulas reference cells that have different currency formatting applied), you could adjust the formulas by adding the desired currency symbol to them. For example, if you reference a cell that has the $ currency format applied, you could add “$” +  into your formula, eg =”$” + [Currency Column]@row.

Does that help? If not, could you provide a little more clarification on exactly what you’re attempting to do? If you can provide screenshots of your sheet, this will help us to clarify your request and we can then confirm whether what you’re trying to achieve is possible or not.

    Thanks!

    Georgie
