Contacts Column Not allowing contact to be selected

I am a admin user and use a sheet to log communications. WE have a Contacts column where the staff member is suppose to select their name, as the person entering the data. However, when 1 particular user tries to enter their name, they receive the error below.
The particular person's name has been added as a contact, but they are also the only one where the contact does not say their first and last name, just their email.
Also, when I try to enter their name in the same field, it works for me . I do not know if this is because I am the admin and they are a free user or what the issue is. Any assistance with this would be great!

Have you tried it by adding their name (even just initials) to the list? Also if you have restricted the choice to only list values then you only you can override that.
