Feature Request: Automatically Sync Reports When a Source Sheet is Renamed in Smartsheet
When a report is grouped or sorted byΒ Sheet Name, renaming a source sheet doesn't immediately update the report. The new name only appearsΒ afterΒ a change is made and saved in the sheet. Until then, the report continues to display theΒ old sheet name, which can lead to confusion and inaccurate sorting.
Current Workaround (Manual & Time-Consuming):
To reflect the new sheet name in the report:
- Open each source sheet.
- Make a small edit (e.g., change a date or note).
- Save the sheet.
- Check the report for updates.
- Undo the edit and save again.
For teams managingΒ dozens or hundreds of sheets, this process can takeΒ hours.
Why This Matters:
- It disrupts workflows.
- It introduces risk of human error.
- It wastes valuable time.
