A “dot phrase” feature similar to what Epic utilizes would be a valuable addition to Smartsheet. Many teams repeatedly enter the same structured text, notes, or explanations across rows, comments, and forms. Allowing users to type a short trigger such as .phrase that automatically expands into predefined content would dramatically reduce repetitive typing and speed up data entry. This would also improve consistency across teams by standardizing commonly used language and reducing the risk of manual errors. Even a simple implementation, where users can create and manage their own shortcut phrases, could save significant time for high-volume users and make Smartsheet workflows more efficient.
Right now one of my teams is considering have an excel file open while they document in Smartsheet so they can copy/paste as they go. This would dramatically benefit them.
