Non working days
Hi,
Is there a way to limit Non working days for a Plan to individuals? One of my developers might be out for a few days but I dont want the plan to skip those days for all.
Thank you!

You can do this by assigning a "out of office" task to the individual for the days they will be out. Use an "elapsed time" as the duration. Then you can schedule other tasks around that out of office time.

@Ajay - Thank you! This is what we have done as a temp. solution. Would be nice to be able to assign non working days per assignee. Thank you!!

Can I just confirm that the effect of this is simply that it will alert you if a resource is over allocated on those days? (Just like using a Team Vacation Schedule sheet)
I thought the original question was to have the same effect as non-working days, i.e. if the period of a task includes an out of office day, the task duration would be automatically extended by 1 day?
I realise that non-working days for individual resources are not supported yet, but is your solution supposed to have the same effect?

Hi, I see @Ajay has provided a workaround back in August 2015 but don't see an answer to the question on the feature request so wondering if non-working days for individual resources is going to be supported in the future. If so, when?

Andrew, this is something we are looking into including in future releases. I will add your vote for it!

Please add my vote for it as well. We use contractors, who are not always available. Thanks

Mine as well. Thanks.

Hi, is there any solution for this yet? This poses an issue for me on most of my projects, especially when working with international teams. Thanks.

Hi...Just wanted to check if there is any update to adding non-working days for an individual. International projects must have this. Thanks

I would also like to know whether there's any progress on this functionality. I've created a vacation plan for my team and a project plan with the team's tasks, enabled resource management on both, but to see overallocated resources I need to open a separate window and see the resources allocation and decide how to work around it without the help of the software. When planning changes happen, i.e. shifting dates, Smartsheet doesn't work around the dates and doesn't even flag the overallocation.
Smartsheet team: is there any progress on this functionality since 2015?
Smartsheet community: did anyone find a temporary solution for this?
