Automatically Generate Decision Log from Action Item List

I’m looking for guidance on how I would (or if it’s possible to) automatically generate line items on a decision log from an action item log column value (separate sheets). What I mean is, whenever the value of “move to decision log” is selected from the next steps column in the action item log I would like for a line item to be automatically generated in the decision log. This line item would reference back to other columns in the row where “move to decision log” is selected, for example, task ID, action item description, created by, etc. Has anyone done anything similar?

One idea is to create a separate report from your sheet that references only the rows and columns you want from the original sheet. Your data would remain on the original sheet, but the report would only pull those items that are "moved to decision log" to allow you to focus on just those items.
