More functionality for for rules

The rules feature is nice but it is very limited and only allows to change things from different fonts, colors, strikeouts, etc.  I would like a rule that allowed more detailed changes.   For example, if column a says completed, changed column L to 100%.    There are many different scenarios.   

 

We are unable to use the predecessors feature because we must allow the flexibility to have some items be done much sooner than we would prefer or much faster and/or allow different tasks and dates to move around in the project.   This means the gantt chart does not work well for us so we manually create our own formulas.  If we could put in a formula that says row L is labeled homework, make the duration 7 days somehow without using the gantt and having to manually create the entire sheet with these formulas that would be a nice feature.   We change our project templates frequently so this is quite a bit of manual work.

It sounds like you're looking for a type of "function builder" that makes functions easier to create, possibly something that allows you to create one function for an entire column more quickly.
