Dates - Gantt Chart
I'm building out a plan with tasks and dependencies and want the dates to populate based off a vlookup. For example, If "Sprint 12" is selected then the proper start date is set in the Sprint Start Date column...which I am doing now with =VLOOKUP([Sprint Start]4, $[Sprint Start]$123:$[Sprint End Date]$136, 3, false). The problem, however, is that date will not populate the Gantt chart since that looks at the project Start Date and End Date columns. I don't want to have to manually set the start and end dates in those columns, I need to set them based off the Sprint number selected. Any help?

Hi Samount,
Can you please give the link of the sheet?
So it helps me to visualize it?
Thanks

samount,
If Dependencies are enabled, the dates used for the Gantt chart are Project Settings and can not contain formulas.
My work-arounds typically involve one or more of the following:
- having a second copy of the schedule that does not have Dependencies enabled,
- having second sets of date/duration fields with Reports and/or Filters to see differences and quickly reconcile them.

Thank you Craig. That's unfortunate, I suppose I'll just have to work around it as well!
@smartsheets - Would be great to include a feature to override the sheet Settings to point to a different date column. OR, allow the Start Date and End Date columns to be populated with a date from another cell.
