auto date entry multiple columns

i have multiple columns in a sheet for various tasks that need to be completed (water, electric, etc.).  the columns are a dropdown to pick from complete, in progress, not started.  i wanted to insert a column next to each task that would insert the current date & time when the status was changed to complete.  i attached a mock up picture of what I'm hoping to accomplish

The auto-number functionality does not appear to work for multiple columns.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

Smartsheet doesn't have a timestamp function outside of Created and Last Updated. The only real solution is to either have users input it or to manually do it later looking at the cell history. 

 

If there are NO updates to the row after the status changes to Complete, you could use the auto-lock feature to lock the row as soon as the status changes to complete in conjunction with the last modified type column.
