Dropdown and Pick Lists
Hello,
Is it possible to populate a dropdown list with the column of a seperate sheet.
Scenario. We have a Sheet containing all our Assets and one for all our Work Orders. When creating a work order (new row) in the work order sheet, or via a webform, we would like to pick the relevant asset the work is linked to. If we use a standard dropdown list then we miss any new Assets which may of been added to the asset sheet after the fact.
Anyone been able to link dropdown lists to sheets columns/cells in another sheet?
Thanks in advance
Stuart

Hi Stuart, there isn't a built in functionality that will do this but we are integrated with Azuqua which is capable of doing this in Smartsheet. Azuqua is a paid service but is powerful and can give you a lot of functionality that does not exist in Smartsheet.
Check out https://www.smartsheet.com/apps/azuqua for more information.
If you need help setting this up in Azuqua, let me know and I can ask my contact at Azuqua to post instructions for workflow.
Thanks!

Have you resolved your need for Dynamic Dropdown list yet or would you like to see the solution in a demo?
Drop me an email if you do and we can set that up?

Richard - I spotted the thread where you describe your solution. I would be keen to see it in action.
Travis - I understand that Azuqua have a third party solution also, but i cannot justify spenidng more on a third party fix, then I am for my whole Smartsheet account.

Hi,
It would be a good function if it was possible to populate a dropdown list with a column from a "Data sheet"
Like Stuart, I connot spend more money to link Smartsheet with a third party software.

We just need to ask Smartsheet to offer this facility within the native App, so why not Vote for that and they will hear or voices?

Ok but how can I vote for that?

Patrick - you just did!
I have recorded votes for everyone in this thread.

Capability to populate selections in a dropdown list from columns in a separate SmartSheet would be the best enhancement I could possibly imagine.

Hi Chris-- I've noted your enthuasiastic feedback

Please count me in that vote as well. We are trying to create a timesheet process that involves choosing from a list of projects that is maintained in a master list. Without the ability to link the drop down to that master list, or to a report from that master list (report only the active projects), dropdown maintenance becomes a nightmare

Hi Stephane-- I have added your vote!

Well just added a post asking this as well, so put my vote down as needing this this option.

I've been asking for this for two years...
