Issues with alerts - not sending 'right away'

I created alerts to be sent 'right away'.  However, we are receiving them via email several hours later - sometimes 12 hours later.  I confirmed that I checked 'email' in my notification settings.

Can you please help me figure out why there is a delay?

    Thanks for your response. Please see attached screenshot. 

    We are receiving other 'right away' alerts within a few minutes.  The issue seems to be with alerts with the trigger 'when row is added''.  For example, the first 2 alerts in the attached are very delayed, but we receive the 3rd alerts within a few minutes.

    Have you had any issues with alerts with the trigger 'when row is added'?

    Update:  FYI, I was able to get this alert to work when I changed the trigger from 'when a row is added' to 'when a row is added or changed'.  I'm not sure why it wasn't working with 'when a row is added' since it works fine on other sheets.

  • How are you able to specify when you want the notification to occur? Below is a screenshot of what I see when managing my workflows


  • Hi @anna slayton

    It looks like you have the trigger set to be when rows are Added or Changed. Click on the arrow in the top right of the specific workflow you want to update, then click Edit.

    From here you can update when you want the notification to be sent out by selecting the "When Triggered" text and choosing a different option:
