Workspace Notifications - not individual sheets

I dont believe this is possible and if you not i'd like to request this as a feature.

Some of my workspaces can have up to 28 or 30 sheets in them, all related to the same project.

 

 

As the owner i would like to be notified of any changes within these 28 -30 sheets, but dont want to have to repeat the process of setting up each individual sheet. it would be far easier to have the option of setting notifications as a group per workspace.

Good suggestion Scott! There isn’t a way to set up a workspace level notification but I will add this suggestion to our enhancement request list.

So is the enhancement on your 2016 Roadmap or just still on the "list"?  As our organization continues to leverage Smartsheet this particular gap is unfortunately limiting certain uses within our projects.

 

If this is not going to be added to the product are there any plugins that you could point us to to cobble this functionality together for use now?

+1 to this as well.  

 

We use the Notifications as daily reports to our teams.  As SS use grows, now the number of sheets per team grows, and then too the number of notification emails.  I'm getting ~100/week with just 5 teams online, and we're about to 6 have more.

 

So, I could definitely see the value in a Workspace Notification option.

@Travis, has this request been approved for 2017?

We use workspaces as an order tracking tool for our customers orders (adding them as viewers) we have almost 30 sheets in the one workspace and would like to create a "blanket" alert for each workspace to send them daily updates on changes.

We currently don't have functionality to create notifications on the workspace level but I've logged your votes for this on our enhancement request list for further consideration.

 

We don't have a timeframe for when this feature will be released in the application.

I am quite sure this feature will never be released, as all feature requests we have ever made have been completely ignored.  Nobody cares about your list that has no completion dates or outcomes.  It is very disapointing. 

 

So you do not have WorkSpace notifications.  We work from templates.  When a user creates a sheet from a template within a workspace, can we setup a notification that this has ocurred?

 

If not, your notification process is worthless.  You have lots of functions that have no use.  I can elaborate if you want.

We most certainly don't ignore feature requests, but we have to put a lot of our resources and time behind each feature we develop. There's a chance that features you're looking for can take more time than you're expecting to be developed—we want to ensure that we're developing the most in-demand features and getting them right.

 

There isn't a way that you can configure notifications on a Workspace level in Smartsheet, but I've passed your feedback along to our Product team so they are aware of the increased demand for this.
