Triggering a Microsoft Flow when a column is updated
Hi all,
I have a smartsheet that my operations team manages. It tracks all orders that we receive through our defined shipping process. Each order is a new row and there are multiple columns. One of them is the "Estimated Shipping Date" which someone from our team will fill out. I want to create a Microsoft Flow that whenever this date is first put in for that row, we automatically send out an email to the customer (name and email address are found in other columns) with the estimated ship date.
Is this possible? I'm a total newbie to Microsoft Flow and the Smartsheet triggers that are available don't seem to be exactly what I need. I suppose I can use "When a sheet is updated", but I don't know how to put a condition to check if "Estimated Ship Date" value has been updated.

Hi,
Is there a specific reason you want to use Flow or could you use something else? I would suggest using Alerts & Actions in Smartsheet instead.
Would that work?
Have a fantastic weekend!

I believe that when we looked at this option, the alert came from a generic Smart Sheet email address, and we needed it to be from a specific corporate email account.

If it's an alert, it will send from the e-mail address that configured the rule.
Would that work or do you still need to connect it to Flow?

Andrée

I would like to know if there is an answer to the original question. I have an alert set up to notify on approval but do not want a link to the sheet included in the notification. From what I can tell from other boards, the only way this can be done is with a third party, such as Zapier or Power Automate.
