Turning a Paper Report into Smartsheets

While I appreciate consultants, I'm not currently seeking to hire anyone to do this for me, I just have general questions to accomplish my goals.

My direct supervisor sends out a request for certain data to various people on his staff once a month.  It's a "Service Report" of sorts that is used to provide data to our board of directors.

I transferred all the sections and fields and things to a sheet and thought I could do an "Update Request" on selected fields and that would send to the person who has the data, but it just looks too awkward.


I'm trying to come up with a simple solution for this that would allow us to track the data and provide us with the report that would simplify everyone's life.  That's the reason why we subscribed to Smartsheets.

I'm thinking once this is set up properly, I can set it up to go out once a month and automate this whole process for information.


right now it's about 5 pages of tables and it's broken down by divisions and each area seeks different data. that's what made the sheet look so interesting.

Also, I had an issue when the Update Request as it was confusing because it was asking them to insert data for the headers as well as the sections they needed to complete.
