How do I create a new primary row in SS? One that carries sub heads and rolls up to the calendar?

Indent the row(s) underneath it.
Right below the tool bar icons for Grid View ! Gantt View ! Calendar View you'll find
Outdent (Ctrl+M) and Indent (Ctrl+K)
(command on Mac's)
