Avoid access to smartsheet when request for update

First of all, english is not my native langage, please excuse my mistakes.

 

Hello all,

 

I have a smartsheet with several external counterparts (customers and providers). I manage the smartsheet which is not shared and nobody is able to reach / open it.

I send requests for update with automatic processes. but when counterpart receives confirmation, a link to the smartsheet allows him/her to open it.

So all my work is ineffective.

 

Please help me otherwise I have to re think the whole architecture and it could be very complexe.

Hi Francois,

If they can access the sheet then they are shared with it. Double-check the sharing of the sheet and Workspace.

Thank you very much for your quick answer.

 

I send you a copy of notification e-mail I received. In CC of this e-mail there is the person who updated through request for udpate (hidden in the picture). She is neither in the workspace sharing nor smartsheet sharing

Can they open the sheet, or do you mean that there is a link to the sheet in the message?

They can open the link, but it will not open the sheet if they aren't shared with it.

Make sense?

They should only have access to the row they need to update, not the sheet.
