Forms that need to incorporate multiple line entries
We currently use Jotform for some of our forms here and would like to be able to bring more of them over to Smartsheet if possible
As you can see from the attached files, the form is set up to add a new line after each previous line is filled in and the 'save' button pressed
Are we able to set up a Smartsheet form to replicate this please?
I look forward to hearing from someone!
Many thanks

Hi Trevor,
A possible workaround could be to have two forms. First, they fill in the main form and then the part rows. For each part, the form would reload.
Make sense?
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic day!

To add:
The main form completed > Loads the part form > completed > Loads the part form again and so on.

Hello Andrée,
Yes, maybe not ideal but that might possibly be workable for us.
Do you have an example so that we could see what exactly you mean?
Many thanks
-
Happy to help!
Can you email me at andree@workbold.com, and I'll share an example with you?

Hello Andrée,
Did you get my email reply?
Many thanks
-
Hi Trevor,
Which one?
I got one that it would be too confusing, and I replied that another option could be to create a sheet template and have the rows automatically moved to the order sheet.
Did you get that one?
Would that work?

Hello Andrée
Yes, and thought I'd replied to that one too! Must have got lost on route to you?!
Very much appreciate your input into this but I couldn't work out how it would physically work for us. Maybe you could show me by a quick screen share or bullet point list, could you?

I'm always happy to help!
I'll share something later in the week!

Hello Andrée,
Can you send me your solution example? This may help me break up a very long form into two parts. Ideally, it would be better if I could use logic (if they select "yes" to a question, then the remainder of the form fields would unhide). However, I don't think this is an option in Smartsheet right now.
-
Hi Ann Marie,
I just shared the template with you.
It's two forms.
- The main form to fill in the order data (Opens the Part form when submitted)
- The part form to add all the parts for that order (Reloads after each submission)
Another option could be to create a sheet template and then have the rows automatically copied to your order sheet.
Let me know how it goes!
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Best,

Hi Andree, if you are using 2 forms, would not that create 2 separate records in the sheet?
-
Hi @Ella
It will create multiple records.
The first form is for the primary information, and that row will be colored through conditional formatting.
The second form is for adding one part in the order for each form submission.
Make sense?

Hi Andree it makes sense, but I am curious how are they going to match the 2 records created in the sheet? Don't they have to resubmit some of the info from the first form via the second form as well?
-
For this use-case, they didn't need to match, so it will be the separator that would split the orders.

Andrée,
May I have access to this solution as well? I would like to try it out for an asset requests sheet with forms for my team.
