1 - Community error message: “Permission or Domain Denied”

If you receive the “Permission or Domain Denied,” error when you attempt to log in (or create a Community account for the first time), there are two possible reasons:

  • The email address associated with the account has been warned and then blocked based on previously activity that was in violation of the Community Guidelines.

-or-

  • This account is associated with a company that has requested that their employees be blocked from Community participation. Please contact the Smartsheet System Admin within your organization for more information.

NOTE: You will still be able to search the online Community for answers, but you will be unable to ask, answer, or otherwise participate in the online Community.

If you feel that you have received this message in error, please contact Smartsheet Support.

2 - Permission Problem - Unable to Edit Profile Fields

If you find that you are unable to edit your profile and you receive the error “Permission Problem - You don’t have permission to do that”, this may be caused by a cache/cookie issue with your browser.

Please try a different browser, or open up a new window in Incognito mode, and attempt to perform the same action. Should this allow you to make edits as expected, clearing your browser’s cache/cookies will resolve the issue.

If you are still unable to make any edits across multiple browsers, please use the flag action on this post to Report this post to a moderator, selecting the Other option and providing notes on all the actions and browsers you tried.
