A workflow to transfer a data from smartsheet to MS word
Hello Team,
Firstly I must confess I am a beginner to smartsheet.
I want to transfer a data from Smartsheet to MS word and save the file.
Say for example: I enter a smartsheet report as follows. In the first column I would fill as XYZ, in the second column ABC.
I need to get an ouput in .txt format saying " Hello XYZ. welcome to ABC team. Have a nice day".
The output needs to be saved as WelcomeXYZ.txt in a particular location I mention. Please let me know how to achieve this

Hi Pratheek,
I'd recommend exploring the third-party services, Zapier and Microsoft Power Automate. Are those an option for you?

Thanks for the reply. I want to do it in Smartsheet. Third party solutions are not an option here. I want to know the limitations in smart Isn't there an option within Smartsheet? Can we not export the data to MS word?

Unfortunately, you can't export to word. The options are Excel, PDF, Gantt Image, MS Project, and Google Sheets.
Depending on what you need more specifically, it might be possible to create something with formulas.
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

As mentioned earlier in the question I just need a work flow to transfer data from Smartsheet to word.
For example using VBA coding we can transfer data from excel to word. I need a similar technique to transfer it from smartsheet to word.
In the below mentioned images I have uploaded an example of what I need. If I create a similar worksheet in smartsheet how do I create a word file.

Was anyone able to find an updated solution for exporting smartsheet data to microsoft word?

I am looking for exactly the same thing. I need to transfer information listed in a smartsheet (e.g. specific cells of a row) to a word document. I basically need the same exporting function that is available for a PDF document, but I need if for a word document. I am fine with programming it but need a hint how this can be done.

Me too, looking for the same thing - would be great/nice to have an export function to MS Word.
