How to add column that shows start/finish time in minutes?

I see you can list a task in minute increments, e.g. 15min. We are creating a cutover plan and need to list a start & finish TIME: e.g. 9:00, 10:00, etc. Does Smartsheet have this as an "intelligent" column or just a text/number one only? Would be extremely helpful, so that folks can time the work and also, if you add another task, the timing would update.

Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately, Smartsheet doesn't have a time column type at the moment but they are working on it.

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment

There might me a possible workaround for your use-case/need.

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

Thanks for writing back!

We are creating a detailed cutover plan and wanted to list tasks that need to be executed, not only in hour/minute increments (e.g. 1h or 20m) but wanted to see if Smartsheet has a column that lists start and end time, e.g. 09:00, 09:20, etc.

I know I can do this (as shown) via text but was wondering if there was a plug-in, etc that if you:

a) Make duration 20m

b) Make start time 8:00

c) It automatically makes the end time 8:20

d) Lastly, if you add/remove tasks, it increases/reduces the subsequent timings for the next tasks

Do you have predecessors established? Are you using 12 or 24 hour format? Are you using colons?

Any update on the Time Column type as stated back in February? Also, does this extend to the Gantt chart view? I have a system cutover plan that has over 500 actions that take place over a 2-day time period. The Gantt chart only shows down to the day so it is nearly impossible to see predecessor relationships and the critical path.
