Consolidating output from multiple forms onto a single line in a sheet

I am quite a new user so apologies if this is quite a simple task

I have a multi stage process which relies upon collecting information from 3 different sources (for which 3 forms have been developed), but as the information all relates to a single request to procure a vehicle, which is being tracked on a single sheet, i want the information from the forms to all fill in along the same row in the sheet

Is this possible?

If it works for your process, I’d recommend using a form to initiate the process and then continue with automatic Update Requests.

Use the first form, and then continue to use the same form with automatic update requests? I have not tried this before so will read some of the help text and then have a go.

Yes, but you'll start with the form and then configure the Update Request similar to the form.

Now if only we could get Update Requests to mimic the Conditional Logic available in Forms...

I agree with @Paul Newcome ! Update Requests are ok for internal staff updates but when reaching outside of the organization to our clients Update Requests are clunky to use. If Update Requests could at least mimic the conditional logic of forms that would be awesome!

@Paul Newcome @sdonnelly I've just started creating forms with conditional logic in them and they are great and so easy to build. That is why i originally started out by having a series of forms for my process but then discovered the issue with getting responses on different rows in the sheet 🤔

Im restructuring to see if building as suggestedby Andree delivers what I need

To add. Another option could be to keep the forms but have them added to different sheets and then collect them together on one row, and then you can still use the Logic feature, but for it to work, we would need to have something unique to connect them.

@Andrée Starå - Hi - I have a similar issue. I have a process that I want to follow, and am having some difficulty connecting everything together. I also have a step where I need 3 forms to populate one row item. I'm okay with collecting the forms through different sheets, but how do I consolidate everything onto one row somewhere?

Form 1: Program Owner submits a request by form...Row-ID is assigned to the new request based on the form submitted.

Form 2: I need our Dev team to complete a checklist (in a logical form - the checklist populates based on content type) to ensure they have reviewed all the steps necessary for the request. They can have a question on the form that says enter the Row-ID for this request. (how do I connect this to the original request?) -- Along with this checklist, it moves the content item to QA.

Form 3: I need our QA team to complete a similar checklist (based on that same Row-ID) to ensure they have also checked for requirements, and sign off on QA completion.

And finally, I want all of that to populate to a single line in a sheet to show that content item made it through the workflow.

any suggestions?

I’d recommend using an Update Request, if possible, for Form 2 and 3.
