Welcome to the Community and the wonderful world of Smartsheet!
You can't use any of the fields in an Approval Request. Instead, you'd need to use the built-in Conversation/Comment feature.
Make sense?

Didn't want to start a whole new thread- tried following your instructions in this thread, but don't see the option for integrated comments in the Approval workflow.
Has this feature been removed?

Greetings- no I have made no additional discoveries on this topic. Truthfully, gave up figuring that a system update removed the feature. If you have any other advice, I would welcome it.

If I have multiple steps in my approval workflow and I remove the field "A comment" from the last step, but I include the field "A comment" in the previous steps, will my users still have the ability to comment in the previous steps?
Basically what a I want to do is have all of the approvers see the comments until I get to the final step and when the notification email for the Approve or Decline happens on the last step I do not want to include any comments.

I think I see what happened. I did the same thing at first, but instead of creating a new field for comments, there is one built in. When you go to add the field to the approval email in the workflow action and you are selecting which fields to add to the notification, choose the one at the top called "A Comment". This should be editable.
