Access Requests

Morning All,

we have a lot of staff requesting access to various sheets, I am looking for ideas on how to maintain this - keep track of it - when someone requests access having the sheet owner or manager of that department approve the access and the level of access

Any ideas :-)

I hope you're well and safe!

They would need to be the Owner of the sheets to get the requests.

As a workaround, you could maybe set up a sheet that can be used to request access to specific sheets/workspaces, and then there is a check who is responsible and ask for access.

Make sense?

Would any of those options work/help?

Morning Andrea, we have done up a sheet ( above and are currently playing with the alerts and approvals) still testing but it seems to be working - hopefully y will take responsibility of sheet owner and make the Line Managers responsible - hopefully stop some of the internal frustration

Myself and 9 other Admins, along with the owner just got a request for access. We don't know who this person is, or WHY he wants access. We certainly don't want everyone to have access. Is there any setting that I can change that would REQUIRE the user to acknowledge WHY they want access?

Did this recently change, it only used to be the owner who would get the request?

I have the same question as @scot tupper . I now have a ton of access requests in my inbox. Please also (if you would be so kind) to point me to a link about this. I would like to be able to share this information with my boss and other admins that are receiving these requests. I am hoping that we can be proactive in everybody getting these.
