Currently Access Requests come as basically "I want access to this sheet". But the problem is, and I am sure others have encountered this also, the company is so big. And we are using Smartsheet at a global level. So what started out as a sheet, report, or dashboard for our team has now gone so far beyond that. I need to make the access process managable for my team.
I would like the ability to have the "default" access request, as it currently is. But also have settings (per sheet) that would allow me to customize the access. I could define fields I wanted to appear on the access request, AND define whether or not they are optional or required.

I'm looking for something similar; I manage sheet access by groups (based on job title) but new hires are told very little about SmartSheets, so they go to a single sheet and click request access. Based on their job title, they might "need" access to many sheets. Previously I have had to reply to the embedded email, locate them in the org chart in Outlook, then assign them to the correct Group. Honestly it makes me salty because this is not even in my top 20 priorities… It would be great to be able to customize the "request access" to give the specific instructions I need.
My preference is they email me directly, subject line "SmartSheet access for (Insert Job Title Here)". Then with the least effort I can drop them into the correct group. However since these new hires are not even told they might need access to up to 50 sheets, getting this preference followed has not been successful.
If the "request access" pop up could be customized with the above request, or "Type email address and job title in this field" I might have a fighting chance at getting my real work done.
