Calendar App - Sort by Specific Field in host Sheet/Report

Is there a way to sort my data grouping by a different field? I have a column that designates a specific order I would like the data to show - but it only sorts in the column(s) and not the data grouping as desired. I don't want the data to be sorted alphabetically.

Hi @Jaimy Tully
If I'm understanding you correctly, you have a Sheet in Smartsheet that you're using as a source for a calendar in the Calendar App. Then in the Calendar App you're using one specific field to group your items, and within those groups you want the items to appear in an order based off another column.
In this case, you will just need to Sort the underlying sheet by the desired column. Then in your groupings the order should fall within that second column's Sort!
However if this secondary column is a drop-down list then there is different behaviour for a source sheet or report:
- If the source of your Calendar is a sheet, then sorting by a drop-down column will follow the order that items are listed in the column properties.
- If the source is a report, then drop-down options will be sorted alphabetically and order in the column settings is not recognized.
Let me know if this has explained what you're seeing. If not, it would be helpful to see screen captures of both the underlying sheet data & sort, as well as how it appears in your Calendar app (but please block out sensitive data).
Cheers!

Thank you! That is very insightful - yes, I am targeting to a source report from multiple sheets (15+). So my initial thoughts on an attempt at a workaround is to create a new sheet to target to each sheet for the fields I need.
Hope this is resolved in the future.
