Question on Dashboards

I am trying to create a graph on my dashboard that shows a month by month historical trend line graph. When I try and graph out the info it sorts the months by alphabetical order rather than in the correct order. I have 2 columns on my source sheet pulled into a report one that shows the date an item was entered and I have a formula for another column to convert that date to a month only. Any advice on how to do this would be great.

Have you tried sorting the report on the date column?

Yes I had it sorted on the date and then grouped by the month field it seems like that month field is not able to be sorted since it's not really a date just the month.

My suggestion then would be to adjust your formula that outputs the month name so that it is

01 - January

02 - February

03 - March

or something to that effect.
