How to transfer indentation using Data Mesh?
I am using a Data Mesh config to copy data from one smartsheet to another. The config includes the primary column. The data within the primary column is copied over flawlessly (I am using Data Mapping Format = Copy and Add Data). However, the indentation is not copied over. Is there any way to map the Indentation from the source file to the target file?

Hi @Petra
Yes you are correct, copying rows (either manually or through automations) will copy the entire row, including the indentations.
Otherwise you can use formulas or Data Shuttle to copy the data of the cells into specific columns, but it won't include the hierarchy formatting.

Hi @Petra
There currently isn't a way to copy over hierarchy from one sheet to another with DataMesh. You will need to manually make those indents after the data exists. Please let the Product team know of your feature request by filling in this form, here.
Thanks!

Hi @Genevieve P. ,
Is there any other way (via Cell links or similar) to reflect indention from one source sheet to another target sheet?

Hi @Petra
No, there currently isn't a way to automatically create hierarchies, it's individual to each sheet and currently based on a manual process. The only way to duplicate Parent/Child rows would be to copy the rows from one sheet to another (via automation or manual), or Save as New to create an entirely new sheet. See: Copy and paste hierarchy
Cheers,
Genevieve

Hi @Genevieve P. ,
Thanks for the insights. With Automation I can only copy entire rows - correct? What I'd like to do is copy the first 2 columns (with indentation) only.
