Option to Not Include Sheet Link on Notifications

The next step is to raise this with our customer success people, dedicated sales reps, and anyone else assigned to our relationships, particularly those paying for Pro Desk support. I forwarded today's notification with HLCrinstiansens's assessment to my reps and reminded them that sometimes the seemingly smallest of enhancements could have the greatest impact on end-user experience. If upvotes and submissions via the enhancement form aren't enough, perhaps good old-fashioned letter-writing via email might move this request closer to the top!

LOL, I was redirected to the enhancement link, so not quite crickets on my end! I decided to submit an enhancement every week or so. Perhaps that'll help with the scoring!

I'm trying to send barcode images out through automation and the only way it will work is if we use one of the options in the automation that includes the link. I can't risk having someone accidentally give access to people who shouldn't have access to the whole sheet so I'm afraid I may have to go back to Microsoft/Power Automate for what I'm trying to accomplish. We could use Smartsheet for a lot more if we didn't have to send out links for images to populate and attachments, etc.

The automatic communications are great, the way showing the information looks fantastic.

But I can not use it because there is no option to share content/specific content from the sheet without sharing the link… therefore in order to prevent people requesting access i'm not using it.

Need to have an option to share content from the sheet without need of sharing the link!!!

Looks like the last update was a few years back on this, what are the current plans to make the sheet link optional - I echo all the comments on this and other threads that this is a GREAT idea.

Did this ever get changed/has anyone found a work around? I built an entire dynamic approval process that is unusable because smartsheet auto includes a link to my main sheet.

My workaround was to create my documents in a public facing Google drive, and send the link in the message instead of an attachment. Less than ideal, and obviously won't work for every scenario.

I'm trying to capture external form information and then process through a workflow. Although we want users to approve/decline as necessary we don't necessarily want them to view the sheet in it's entirety as it can become quite complex/confusing for those not involved with some of the processes. It would be great if Smartsheet allowed inclusion of the sheet link as an option that we could turn on as we saw fit.

We are in desperate need for this function, and it looks like it was on the roadmap in 2022?? Please, please, enable this option.

I feel like this request is being ignored because they changed their subscriber model, they want more provisional users, so they want everyone to click on the sheet link to annoy us until we give them access.

Hi! Just adding support to this request - My department would also GREATLY benefit from this: we send out company wide reminders/updates on projects and need to stop getting hundreds of requests to access the base sheet.

Why would you want something useful/productive like this when you can have "fun" duplications of existing features like Board and Table view? 😉 Plus, what would you do without all of those unnecessary license requests…?

To remove the link to the sheet for an Update Request is essential. In our case the sheet in question contains confidential information which we don't want to be shared to all the people who will provide some updates.

It is odd that this option is not available as it available for the Alert Someone option.
