How do I open an attachment in Adobe Acrobat DC?

I have Adobe Acrobat DC on my computer and a pdf attachment in a Smartsheet. When I try opening the attachment (without downloading it), it asks me to Get Adobe Reader Now! How do I get my Smartsheet to recognize that I already have it on my computer?

Thanks!

  • Hi @KCS

What type of file are your attaching / trying to upload?

When you click on a file from Smartsheet (without downloading it), it will open the file in a new tab of your browser. Is it possible that there's a setting on your browser that's blocking this type of file from loading? For example, if you have this same file in a google drive and you click on it, do you receive the same message?

    Thanks for troubleshooting with me!

This did not resolve the issue. I've confirmed the default "anything pdf" is Adobe Standard. It is installed on my computer. It works as intended except for SmartSheet. The file is a pdf. It opens with Adobe Standard when opening from my desktop. SmartSheet fails to recognize that Adobe Standard exists on my computer. I've removed the Chrome extention and it did not resolve the issue. SmartSheet continues to present the "Get Adobe Reader Now!" message no matter which pdf I've uploaded to SS. It does this for all of them.
