Automated workflow delivery alert not sending to some individuals??
I have the following workflow automation for an update request
My workflow permissions are set to unrestricted, so I believe this should notify/ send an email with update request to any recipients in the assign to cell even if they are not shared to the sheet...
However I keep getting an email to state that certain people are not been notified recommended to change my automation permission or share them to worksheet... Permission is already unrestricted and some of the data on worksheet they do not need to see.
Any ideas or help to why this is doing this or how to overcome this please??
Much appreciated 😃

This is not first time i've had this only way around it was to share the sheet last time that was ok too, this time some information is not ok too??
I thought the unrestricted permissions should overcome this?? x

I have this same issue. Was anyone able to resolve?
Thanks!

I have a similar issue. I have a form set up to capture new ideas. One of the fields in the form captures the contact email address. I have then set up automation to email the contact (originator of the new idea) once the idea is reviewed. This works if the sheet is shared with the contact, but does not if the sheet has not been shared. My question: Can the automation send an email update to the contact (originator of the new idea), without having to share the sheet?
Many thanks

Hey @MarkHoad
Yes, but you have to ensure your Automation Settings allow sending emails out to external collaborators:

Thanks for the quick response. I have this selected already, but the notifications are not being received.
My automation should select the email address in the Originator column (which is set up as a 'Contact List' column type. Should this actually reflect 'Created by'? or a different column type? Many thanks

Hey @MarkHoad
You should be able to use either the Created By column or a Contact Column (as long as the values being input into that column are seen as Contacts / valid emails).
If these users don't have Smartsheet, is it possible that the email is being sent but blocked by their Spam blockers?
