Approval Workflow - Request approval from a pre-defined contact in a sheet

I have a use case where the approver for something will not always be the same individual. I would like to add a column for the approver (contacts list), and have an automated approval workflow that sends an approval request to the individual listed in that column.

Smartsheet seems to require that I specify a single individual.

Is there a workaround for this?

You can select a contact column that will send to the contact(s) in the cell on the row for approval. (see below)

@Andrée Starå, I've Gerry rigged it to work, but it's not the best solution ever.

I basically had to set up multiple approval workflows, one for each approver.

Another way could be to have a sheet with all contacts connected to the Approvals.
