Metric Widget is referencing sheet that has met the 500,000 cell limit - What do I do?

I have a dashboard widget that is referencing a sheet that recently met the 500,000 cell/row limit. I thought breaking out my sheets by year would be enough space, but I was wrong. Is there a way to keep the look and feel of my dashboard widget, but have it reference 2 sheets (or something like that)?

You could maybe create a so-called Metrics Sheet where you collect data from multiple sheets and then add them together.

Make sense?

Can this be done with the Summary section? I'm currently using Sheet summary data to populate the widget (forgot about that). If I duplicate the original sheet in order to continue collecting data, can I combine the summary data from both sheets into a single cell on the new sheet? Is there a formula for that?
