Control Center: Linking an intake sheet field to metadata for existing projects

Hi,

Using control Center, I am looking for a way to change project managers for existing projects. Once the project is provisioned the project manager is set at that moment in time. I have fixed this problem in the blueprint to link to the intake sheet. now if I change the project manager on the intake it changes the project manager on the metadata.

This works great but I have not been successful getting Global Update to create that link on previously provisioned projects. So going forward I can change the project manager on new projects but not on existing.

Any ideas?

That's going to be a rather manual process.

I personally try to leave the intake sheet alone as much as I possibly can so that we have the historic record. If I want to change metadata, I will create a report that pulls in all of the metadata sheets and have it filtered to only show those fields I want to be able to change.

At the highest level what I am trying to do is have a function that will allow me to switch project manager to someone else. Project Manager is profile data in the metadata on the project

Right. So if you wanted it linked to the intake sheet to be able to change it there, you would need to manually link all existing projects.

I personally would not link it to the intake sheet. I would create a report that pulls in all of the projects' metadata sheets, have it filtered to only show that one row from each sheet and then change it there in the report.
