When making a report and organizing data by groups within the report, these groups should stay in place when sharing the report via email.
I tried making a report for HR on employees' attendance and scheduling it at the beginning of the month for the previous month. Was then surprised when the email came in with a raw excel spreadsheet.
I think it's a great and necessary idea!
I'm trying to do the same thing by sending a report that presents the information in groups, along with a summary, in this case the sum of a specific column. However, when I send the attached PDF, this formatting gets lost.
Hi @Primoz and @Laura Rodríguez, I created a browser extension and implemented a new PDF generator to solve this problem. You can click here to download the browser extension.
Then click the "SSFeatures" button at the top, and then click "Generate PDF".
Here is an example of what the generated PDF looks like, notice how it has all of the grouped and summary rows:
Then you can email this PDF to your team with all of the groups and summaries intact. I'm constantly improving this PDF generator and adding new features to the extension, so if you have any feedback, feel free to respond here, or email me at nathan@ssfeatures.com.
I hope this works for you!
