Conditional Formatting in a Report

Is it possible to include Conditional Formatting in a Report?
I see discussion on this topic from a few years back, wondering if there has been an update or an easy work-around to include Conditional Formatting in Reports.
Thanks!

The report will reflect conditional formatting from the sheet. I don't think it is possible to include conditional formatting only in a report.

Hi Melissa,
Brooke is correct. One workaround would be to build a dashboard with the report and then you can choose if you want to show the formatting.
I hope this helps you!

Thank you for the response, but my conditional formatting is not transferring to the Report. My hope is to have it both on the main sheet and the report. Any suggestions on where I've gone wrong?
-
Ok, I've played with it a bit more. It seems my conditional formatting is working on the report though a change needs to be saved to the main sheet before the conditional formatting will appear on the report. So when I check a Complete box or change the date on the Report, it will not show the conditional formatting until the main sheet saves and the report is refreshed.
A little clunky but at least it works.

Has there been any update to this request: https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/6769/possible-to-strip-cell-formatting-out-for-reports
I have conditional formatting (ie color coding) in a master sheet. I do not need, nor want, that color coding to be visible in the report I am sharing with a supervisor.
How do I remove the conditional formatting for just the report only?
-
Hi @Chris Rea
Unfortunately, it's not possible to remove the formatting in a report except in a Dashboard at the moment, but it's an excellentΒ idea!

I hope that helps!

@AndrΓ©e StarΓ₯ this is nearly 2 years old and hasn't been fixed. I'll add it to my que of "feedback requests", which is getting to be nearly a dozen items, but the more I search smartsheet the more it looks like those requests fall on deaf ears.
-
Yes, it can feel like it does go to deaf ears, but I don't think that is the case. I know that Smartsheet gets a high number of Enhancement Requests and that they have to prioritize according to multiple factors, where the popularity is a big one.Β
That said, please continue sending in the Enhancement Requests.

I'm on the other side of this issue than @Chris Rea. I have formatting I would like to appear in a report but not appear in the day-to-day work on the main sheet... specifically, for management.
Although, I could see it going the other way as well.
Personally, I prefer very specific use of color on my sheets. My managers on the other hand like full on rainbow reports. I would be sick and dizzy if I had to look it all day long.
Would love to see reports with separate conditional formatting options. Seems like that would solve the issue either way.
Cheers!

I have a slightly different requirement.
I would like to conditionally format the summary row if the demand (budget) is greater than the supply (capacity).
Is this possible?
Cheers!

Has this been fixed yet?
-
Hi, this is a really good request that seems to be growing old. Managing the appearance of a report seems like a reasonable request - soon???
-
Yes agreed - we run a couple of reports to validate data across multiple sheets. We can use several conditions and filters in these reports. It would be great to be able to use conditional formatting in this instance as it would quickly highlight the specific data anomaly areas that need fixing.
