V Lookup formula for importing Contact List broke and I don't know why.
So I have a reference sheet of contacts and their assignments. I made a different sheet to assign tasks as they come in and set up an equation to look up and auto assign.
It looks like:
=VLOOKUP([Rule Number]@row, {Committee Range}, 2, false)
So when a task came in and it matched the rule, it would assign the person in the Committee sheet in column 2.
Before it was working, importing the same contact list format (with the colored circle, initials, etc) just fine. But I saved it, came back after my boss asked me to make a change, and all the contacts are plain text. I can't change it back. I tried the same format on a different sheet and the same thing happens. I ended up making a new column and matching current assignments up but I would like for the contact list to transfer so I can set up a notification for people when they are assigned a number as tasks come in and sort by card view.

Hi @pzupan:
- Is this Ss.gov?
- What change did you make?
- Have you tried clicking on a name to make sure both fields are still populated with the name & email addy?
- Have you checked the column properties for contacts?
- Have you tried creating a contacts report (based off sheet) to test a different pull?

- No
- I just switched a column, nothing about the equation
- The reference sheet still works for that
- Yes, it is set for "Contact List" still. All of the same people are also added to that column as choices but it is still showing them as plain text
- I have not, but I'm not sure why that'd matter when the sheet I need it to show up on doesn't work?
-
Have you looked at the source sheet to see if someone switched it away from being a contact column?

I'm the only one who controls that reference document and I didn't change anything about it, just the main sheet and it was just rearranging columns

Hi @pzupan If the column you moved is in your lookup range, then I suggest undoing the switch and see if it starts working again.
