Option to Toggle off Admins Receiving Access Request Notifications

With the new update rolled out last month, all sheet/workspace Admins now receive access request notifications instead of just the Owner. This is causing major headaches for the large corporation I work for.

We have thousands of users and many do need Admin permissions to perform their tasks in workspaces. However, they do NOT need to be reviewing and approving asset access requests. It's also incredibly annoying to everyone that unnecessarily receives these notifications.

We would like the option to change this setting to only allow Owners and Asset Admins receive these notifications.

The only fix I've seen offered so far is to lower peoples permission level. However, this does not work for our company. It would cause an unnecessary burden on our teams to demote everyone to Editors and then have to go in and give Admin permission to any specific assets within a workspace that people need.

I don't see an answer on the request/question above and it is a real nuisance; I have the same situation at my organization with many people getting repetitive access requests, and getting annoyed that we cannot control them.

This should really be addressed so that requests can be routed to the correct 'admins.' Has ANYTHING been done for this??

I am also fielding complaints from my team regarding emails for access requests. In April 2024, there was a potential fix listed in a comment here. Is the an estimated completion for this fix? Thanks

Requests to access workspaces currently go to everyone listed as an Admin for that workspace. For us, that includes every member in O365 groups that are Admins. I would suggest that Smartsheet create a way to reduce these notifications and access requests by allowing users to choose who receives access requests (perhaps limiting only to the workspace owner?), rather than automatically sending them to every Admin-level user.

Agree to above, not sure why this would be added without some type of customization since each company works differently. Some require all employees to have admin access, others can make do with just editor permissions. It's a real pain when someone not even involved in the specific sheet but because they have admin permissions to the workspace is getting notifications from that sheet.

Request: Allow users to unsubscribe from Sheet/Report/Workspace/etc. "Access Request" emails if for non-owners. Even better, create a checkbox in the sharing options that toggles whether or not that user (or group) will receive access request emails. (See image below)

Why? if you're an admin of a workspace you WILL receive these emails. You CANNOT opt-out of these types of notification emails (That I'm aware of). I think access request emails should only be sent to the "Owner" of the Workspace/Sheet/etc. But if that's unreasonable, please allow us to disable notifications. I'm a member of a group that frequently gets granted "Admin" access to workspaces in our organization. As a result I receive many access request emails. The only way I know how to prevent these messages from spamming you is to create a rule in your email client to auto-delete them.

Details—Add another option in sharing settings: The Owner MUST receive requests (I guess) but those with sharing rights can toggle access request emails on or off. It would look something like this:

It could be like this or "Make this user the primary access approver", "Notify this user of access request", "Opt-out of access notifications" etc., same idea.

I was surprised to find that my request was merged with a thread over a year old, when the issue was caused by an update, and not yet resolved.

Can anyone at Smartsheet chime in on the status of the OP's request please?
