Any success creating a new Jira ticket from Smartsheet using the Jira Connector?

This is supposed to be doable. I created a Smartsheet sheet that has all of the required Jira fields as columns. From the sheet I created a Smartsheet Form to collect all of these Jira fields. I then connected to our Jira instance with the Smartsheet Jira Connector and made sure the field mappings were bidirectional. No luck getting a new Jira ticket created. Smartsheet Customer Support suggested I reach out to the Community.

The  Smartsheet for Jira Connector allows you to create new issues in Jira without having to leave Smartsheet.

People with a Smartsheet account that have activated the Jira Connector can create and sync Jira issues to Smartsheet. Individuals must be granted access to the Jira Connector by Smartsheet SysAdmins or Connector Admins.

Thanks so much. I must be still missing a step, since the Jira ticket is not being created. I have a call with Smartsheet customer support on Wed. 2/15. If I resolve this, I'll post the solution.

@Jerry Smith any progress in this.. Were you able to create JIRA tickets through a smartsheet form

@parulmishra A few tips that were in the help article are:

1. If your Issue Key field is mapped to a column that is not the Primary column in the sheet, you can’t create new issues in Jira from Smartsheet while Row Grouping is enabled. You can still create new Issues in Jira and sync them to Smartsheet.  
2. To convert new rows in Smartsheet to items in Jira, check the box next to Sync new rows created in Smartsheet to Jira.

I'll also note that you need to map any required fields that will be needed in the Jira item.
