Change the value of a cell from the formula results of another cell

I have a RYGG, Status and % Complete columns. The RYGG has a nested IF statement that takes its values from the Status cell. I manually enter data in the Status (In Progress, At Risk, ..., Complete) and the  % Complete column (10%, 25%, 37%, etc.) I would like to know if there is a way that if I enter 100% in the % Complete it will automatically set the Status to "Complete" or vice-versa, if I enter Complete in the % Complete that it will set the % Complete to 100%. That's it.

Hello Ray! Yes, it is possible to create a formula that will adjust values in a cell based off the values of another cell. You would have to decide which column you want to add the formula to - you cannot add it to both columns have them each column update the other based on which one you edit.

Check out this blog post which explains how to automate RYG balls. These same steps can be used to automate other columns types in your sheet: http://www.smartsheet.com/blog/support-tip-automate-RYG-balls

I also wrote a post back in May about how to write formulas for symbol columns which you may find helpful. Check it out here: https://community.smartsheet.com/announcement/working-symbol-formulas
