Allow multiple people to see/edit DataMesh configuration

It would be very helpful if DataMesh configuration could be shared with others either for viewing or editing. There is no way for someone to see if DataMesh is being used to update data or what data is being updated other than the person who created the DataMesh.

This makes support very difficult. It also makes turnover of projects very difficult.

As an Admin in an Enterprise system, it's very difficult when employees leave if you can't see what they own.

  • This capability would increase productivity in our team

It just wouldn't enhance productivity it would ensure no losses and the ability to edit if someone is on leave. This is a critical need

  • When a user's Smartsheet license is removed we are currently unaware if a person has any configs in Data Mesh. When a person is deleted or license removed, these configs should go to an escrow account like we do currently with sheets. We just learned someone had configs and fortunately the person's ID had not been deleted yet, so by adding the license back we were able to transfer the configs. There needs to be some type of dashboard/visibility to see who owns configs, similar to data shuttle. And upon license removal the configs should automatically go to an 'escrow' account like owned sheets.

This is a critical need for our company, Workday, as well. We're really struggling to troubleshoot DataMesh and Data Shuttle when the owner is out of the office, which is causing big issues.

I strongly agree with this. I cannot find a way to view my teammate's data mesh configurations. We should be able to share with other team member's as back-up and have the ability to view or edit when given permission. The way it is locked down right now doesn't seem to be the best business practice.

  • Agreed, this is critical for our team. Its impossible to know what my teammates have set up, and vice versa. This is not effective for a team environment. This causes possible duplication of efforts as well.

  • The inability to share DataMesh configs with team members seems antithetical to Smartsheet's collaborative design. Transferring ownership should not be the singular sharing option provided for these configs. Many of us in Smartsheet share responsibilities over sheets across our team, and we provide technical support to our stakeholders; we need to have all of the collaborative sharing methods available to us for these additional "premium apps."
