Has anyone used Smartsheet for production resource scheduling?

My company is still relatively new to Smartsheet. We have a project template that is working well for us. However, we also would like to also find a way to use Smartsheet to help us plan/schedule our production resources. We want to be able to line up projects, machine hours, and labor (non smartsheet users) so that when a new project goes into production, we can see what machines/processes are available and what other projects are using which resources. Ideally it would also then show a gantt chart for each machine showing how many hours they are booked for and with which projects. Is all of this something that Smartsheet is capable of? Any templates or suggestions related to this would be very helpful. Thank you!

This is definitely possible in Smartsheet, and it’s something we’ve done before. As a starting point, I’d recommend using Smartsheet’s cross-sheet reference formulas to ensure all your data is properly connected and collected. This will help you align your machine hours, labor, and project timelines efficiently.

My suggestion would be to set up the different machines/processes as resources, as described in Andree’s response in the first thread linked above.
