Smartsheet Automation Email Delay – Takes Around 20 Minutes to Send

I have set up an automation in Smartsheet to send an email notification when specific conditions are met. However, I’ve noticed that there is a delay of approximately 20 minutes before the email is sent.

Is this expected behavior, or is there a way to reduce the delay? Has anyone else experienced this issue, and are there any best practices to ensure emails are sent promptly?

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

To clarify, your workflow is set to run 'when triggered' vs 'hourly' or some other time setting?

I've noticed a delay in my triggered automations as well. However, I have assumed (not sure if accurately) that it is not triggered when the actual cell is change on my screen, but when I've changed it and then also saved/refreshed my sheet. It seems to send much quicker if I save, then if I continue working for long periods of time without saving.

Would approching the 20k row limit impact the automation due to the amount of time it takes for the sheet to save either when an edit is made or a new entry is submitted?
