Duplicate/triplicate email from one notification

Hello!

I tried the standard duplicate the notification and delete the old one already (which fixed it for a few days) but it has not started sending multiple emails again. This is the message I received

"Hey, our head of recruitment just told me that the recruiters are getting like 8-9 emails every time a new hire submission comes through and this is their automation on the Onboarding Request Form so I don’t see anything that could cause that, do you? I have never seen anything like it because the automation is showing to only trigger "when rows are added" and we don't have anything additional setup on it."

Are there any other solutions?

    hi @adegeus101536,

    First of all please be careful with sharing on internet sensitive business data like the email address for your talentacquisition… this community is public and there a lot of bots who are just searching for such emails just to send spam about Viagra etc.

    It's difficult to guess from one screen but it looks like you setup a very general workflow that sends data each time new row is added. There are no conditions set up so if 8 rows are added per day of course 8 times the email alias you used will be used to send data.

    Have you tried for testing this workflow if it really sends 8 emails only by one submission? You can duplicate this workflow put your own email address instead of acquisition and check if by 1 new row added you are getting 9-10 notifications if yes definitely something that needs Smartsheet Support attention. However if you get only 1 email and by 8 new submissions you get 8 emails then yes it works as it should be but you need to change the process.

    hi @adegeus101536,

    first of all please be careful with sharing business internal data like this email address of acquisition. Smartsheet community is public and internet bots are just waiting for such data to start sending spam emails.

    I can see that that notification shall be sent to the acquisition email each time new row is added … no conditions to be met etc.

    Have you tested it already ? I would duplicate this workflow put my own email address instead of acquisition and create few submissions. If you get 8-9 emails but 1 submission this is something that needs Smartsheet Support Attention. However if you get 1 notificaiton per one submission it works how it was designed and it needs redesigning to send only one notification.
