I would like to reopen the discussion on this topic:
Even though Collections sortof work, it adds extra complexity, extra time and extra work. Being able to share a folder as opposed to having the all or nearly nothing approach be preferred. I am currently having to create 3 collections for every single folder within our PMO workspace, just so I can share what is in each folder with the appropriate permissions.
We can share individual artifacts (sheets, dashboards, etc.) and workspaces. Our organization would benefit from being able to share at the folder level. Currently, we need to create a separate workspace for each project (for sharing) to avoid having to individually share the multiple artifacts we require for each project.
I am sure this has been mentioned before but having the ability to assign permission at the folder level in addition to Workspace and individual sheets or item permissions.
I have folders for each project or program I manage under my PMO workspace. I would like to be able to assign permissions based on the folder which would share all of the sheet's, reports, and dashboards within that folder.
Additionally, I could share a sub-folder with various reports for supporting teams or a set of dashboards and reports for executives, etc. This would greatly speed up individual sharing.
I would want the same sheet level functionality that would require the base sheet to be shared as well for someone to see the data in the reports.
Would be great to be able to share a folder within a workspace with people without sharing the whole workspace with them. Having to share item by item is tedious and difficult to keep track of who does/doesn't have access. But also don't want to keep creating different workspaces for the same projects.
We should be able to share a folder and its contents without the need to share the entire workspace
