Copying excel worksheet cells to smart sheet gant chart cells
Hi,
I have been asked to put my existing excel spreadsheet gant planning chart into smartsheet gant chart. Not happy as I am a total novice on smartsheet - but it is failry intuitive even for an old boy like me.
I have figured out 'zooming' - it's not there.- not happy about that.
So I am trying to copy a cell or set of cells from an excel spreadsheet - but the paste command doesn't register on smartsheet. What am I doing wrong?
Best
Dominic

I would start by importing the excel spreadsheet into smartsheet to get the main columns and data. Once you have that in and use the Gantt chard settings (cog0 you will be mostly there, depending on what else you have in your sheet.
Do not impot the Gantt bar elemen columns as Smartsheet will generate that for you provided that you have a start date and end date and dependency linking.

If you want to copy and paste use CTRL + C to copy and CTRL + V to paste (rather than right clicking)

Dominic,
You can import excel files straight to smartsheet from the smartsheet home page which will give you a good foundation to start with. You can add or delete columns as needed.
