Fill field with date when condition is met
Hi,
I have a tracking sheet for status changes on activities. In detail, I'm tracking the status of potential partners being onboarded. So I need to track, when the initial contact is met, when a contract is signed and when they are active. For each stage in their Journey I'm changing the status field, by moving the card from one status to another.
Hence, I'm changing the field "Status" for instance from "initial Contact" to "contract signed".
I'd like to add a new field, which logs the date, when the card has been moved to "contract signed".
Is there a chance to set an automated field, which is dependent on the status of a task / card?

Hi Andre,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's a great idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
A workaround could be to use a third-party solution like Zapier or similar to record the date.
Would that work?
Have a fantastic week!

Hi jtolksdo,
I'm not sure if this fully serves your need, but you could set up a column with Auto Number System properties and set them to "Modified (Date)".
Please have a look at the screenshot.

Cool idea! Let me look into it!
Thanks!

The only downside to this is that this date cannot be "frozen". If there are any other changes to the row, that Modified date/time will update automatically.

Could it be put in a workflow rule ?
Like if Cell A = Fuzzy Bunny then Set Cell B - Today's Date
Or if it was done generically then you could do text
Cell A = Fuzzy Bunny then Set Cell B - Pink
Might be the easiest and then you could also create some pretty massive logic
