Extract location data from attachment (picture)

We are using our sheets for sidewalk repairs. An inspector in the field will open the form in the field, on his phone, fill out the basic information (type of work, address). The sheet will auto-populate the date, but I also want it to auto-populate the location. I was thinking if he were to take a photo, both android and IOS geolocate; he could attach the photo, the lat and longs could be entered into columns, and we could more easily map all the locations. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Hi,

That feature is already in the mobile app. You can add the location when you're editing a field in the form or other views.

As far as I know, you can only capture the location automatically if the inspector is using the Smartsheet Application to fill out the Form. So if all your inspectors have the app & you don't want them to have access to the sheet, you can create a Dashboard/Portal & Embed the web form there... then share the Dashboard/Portal to the Inspectors. They will then have the options shown in the reference below:

If your inspectors do not have the app or you don't want to require that they use it in order to capture the location... are you already capturing the address via the form or do you already have it document within your smartsheet?

If so, let me know and I have a workaround for you.
