Dynamic Forms

Hi,

 

I'm trying to create a form that is dynamic wherein the other fields will changed when a certain category is picked.

For example, selecting category: printing project that will have how many pages, if it's double sided and what type of project it will be.

Then another project that selected category: Room Setup request with fields asking how many people, what kind of set-up is needed.

Is this possible in Smartsheet at all?

Hi,

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment to have field logic In forms, but its an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

As a workaround, you could use a third-party form service that integrates with Smartsheet. Something like Google Forms or similar.

Thank you for the quick response. I didn't know you can iterate with Google Forms, that should solve it! How  can I iterate the form in smartsheet?

This will be possible in Smartsheet soon.

We will soon introduce two major enhancements to Smartsheet forms that we’d like you to know about in advance:

1. A more immersive builder UI to help get the most out of your forms, faster
2. Conditional logic to ensure each respondent is asked the most relevant questions

All of your existing forms will continue to work and be fully editable in the new builder.

I love this functionality is now possible. Yet is it possible to apply the logic within a field, so a choice in a former field determines the options in the next field? I want my users to choose a brand name in one field and then choose products in the next. Yet all the products exclusively belong to one brand.

Yes, it's possible, but you'd need to add multiple so-called helper columns for each brand.
